In depth : How to get the most out of your first bespoke suit appointment
The most challenging part of our work as designers is interpreting how each client defines their desired fit. Descriptions like “modern,” “comfortable,” or “classic” can mean twenty different things to twenty different people. Wearing a suit to your appointment — even one that doesn’t fit perfectly — gives us a valuable starting point. It helps us understand your fit preferences, comfort levels, and how garments drape on your body, allowing us to create a truly personalized bespoke pattern.
Please wear shoes similar in height and style to what you plan to wear on your wedding day (if available). The drape and break of a pant leg are heavily influenced by footwear — for example, a boot versus a loafer will make a noticeable difference. Bringing similar shoes ensures we achieve the perfect fit and proportion.
Also, please wear the undergarments you intend to wear with your final outfit.
Men: Undershirt, underwear, and dress socks
Women: Bra, panties, hosiery/leggings, or shapewear (e.g., Spanx)
Please avoid: shorts, skirts, or athletic shoes — unless that’s what you plan to wear with the finished garment. These make it difficult for us to accurately measure and assess how clothing drapes on your body.

Things to Consider Before Your Appointment
Do you want the suit or tuxedo designed specifically for your wedding or event, or would you like it to be versatile enough for future use?
Are you currently on a fitness or weight-loss plan before the wedding?
If so, what is your target goal or timeline?
What is the most important aspect of your garment for you — comfort, style, or photography?
For most weddings, it often comes down to a balance of all three. Having clarity on these details helps us design a custom suit or tuxedo that fits your lifestyle, vision, and event perfectly.
The First Appointment:
We’ll begin by sitting down together to discuss all the details you’ve prepared. Our goal is to fully understand your vision and design a custom suit or tuxedo that brings that vision to life.
Some of our clients are already familiar with the bespoke tailoring process and need very little guidance. If you’re new to bespoke — don’t worry. We’ll walk you through each step, explain our process clearly, and make it as simple and enjoyable as possible.
What to Expect
Vision & Design Discussion: We’ll explore your goals, inspiration, and event details so we can make informed design suggestions tailored to your style.
Fabric Selection: Together, we’ll review fabric swatches, discuss quality and price tiers, and explain the pros and cons of each option to help you make a confident choice.
Measurements: We’ll take a full set of precise body measurements to ensure a perfect bespoke fit.
Cut & Details: We’ll review style options — such as lapel shape, pocket design, button stance, and overall silhouette — to create your personalized design.
Timing & Deposit
Initial appointments typically take 60 to 90 minutes. A 50% deposit is required to begin work on your bespoke garment.
The Follow up Fittings and Delivery:
Your first fitting will typically take place 4–5 weeks after your initial appointment. During this session, we’ll have you try on your new bespoke suit to evaluate the fit, drape, and overall look. We’ll then chalk, pin, and mark adjustments as needed to refine the garment for your second fitting.
The second fitting is usually scheduled about one week later. In most cases, only minor refinements are needed. However, in a small number of cases (around 5%), if we find that a posture adjustment or pattern miscalculation has affected the fit beyond what tailoring can correct, we will re-cut portions of the garment at no additional cost. While this may add 2–3 weeks to the process, it ensures that your final suit meets our exacting standards for bespoke craftsmanship.
Most clients require two fittings to achieve the perfect fit. Fitting appointments typically last 15–30 minutes.
Once we’ve completed all necessary refinements and confirmed that the fit and silhouette align with your vision, your custom garment will be ready for final delivery.
For approximately 30% of clients, this happens at the first fitting; for the remainder, it’s finalized after one or two additional sessions. The remaining 50% balance of your order will be due at the time of delivery.
