Sometimes there’s just no substitute for a high super number type of suit. While this isn’t a fabric I would recommend for a suit that you would wear once or twice a week, for a special occasion, The Greenhills super 160’s is about as perfect a fabric you can select
Made from a special breed of merino sheep raised in Mudgee, South Wales, Australia, Vitale Barberis is able to harvest just 80 kilos of fiber a year, making this one of the rarest fabrics in their portfolio. (In comparison their other premium collection – Revenge super 150’s- is made from a harvest of around 1.3 million kilos per year!)
The book has 44 fabrics ranging from solid, shadow stripes, simple pin stripes, complex double stripes, window panes and glen checks. With a weight of 230-240g per meter it’s perfect for custom suits in Los Angeles and Orange County’s warmer weather.
The hand and feel is especially supple. Firmer and more stable than a super 180’s + fabric (which makes it easier to tailor ) there is little to no drop off in the softness and luxuriousness.
The coloring combines luster with depth really well, with a clean heathering that isn’t too pronounced. The finish is undeniably Italian with a slight sheen but isn’t shiny.
